Situated in the heart of a “resort complex” in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata, Emotions was the largest resort we’ve ever stayed at by far.
We discovered this beautiful hotel by pure luck strolling down the beach one afternoon. After noticing beautiful beach beds we were intrigued by that VIP section that attracted us into the resort and it was not the end of our surprises.
After talking with the wonderful staff, we decided that it would be a great spot to stay a couple nights in for my wife’s birthday & we didn’t regret that decision. Our experience was incredible in this all-inclusive hotel. We took a quick stroll around the area and soon came to realize that this newly renovated luxury resort was filled with amenities.
With 3 restaurants, a top-of-the-line gym, a very luxurious spa, a nightclub and a casino, we quickly realized during our buffet lunch that they were going to be too much to cover during our quick stay. The staff’s hospitality made us want to stay much longer but we knew we couldn’t, so we decided to live in the moment and went in the direction of the “Tiki Tiki” Bar where we enjoyed some delicious cocktails.
Soon enough came dinner time and we decided to go eat at the Mexican restaurant in the hotel called Lolita where we had fajitas, chicken wings, shrimp ceviche and some vegetarian options also. There also was a nachos bar with many toppings to choose from. The portions were small enough to try multiple options and the bite-size desserts was also very enjoyable but not as enjoyable as the surprise that came as we were getting ready to leave. Right at that moment, lights went off and we heard all the waiters & restaurant staff singing “Happy Birthday to you” illuminated only by the candles on the beautiful birthday cake coming our way.
What better way to end our 1st day at Emotions Playa Dorada? Spending the night in our gorgeous Suite!
I mean we won’t forget that experience anytime soon. It was truly one of the most Zen suites we ever stayed in, the interior design was Modern, the bed was Ultra comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and we even had bathrobes waiting for us in our closet. On top of all that, the biggest surprise of all was when we open the balcony doors and saw a Jacuzzi ready to be jumped in with a view on the resort’s gardens.
The second day was more laid-back as we stayed by the pool enjoying cocktails for the whole afternoon. While relaxing at a private rooftop pool, we met a group of girls from the USA soaking in some sun before heading back home the next day. One of them was a model so we improvised a quick photo shoot on that rooftop terrace.
Then came our last night at the resort so we attended the hotel’s dance group performance which was choreographies of classic songs from Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson. After the performance, we walked around the casino, had some popcorn at the pool bar & went dancing in the nightclub called Disco. Although we didn’t stay long there because we had plans the next morning, we took the time to stroll around the hotel before heading for our Suite.
In conclusion, our stay at Emotions was short but a lot of fun! We met nice people, had interesting conversations & we were treated like kings by the whole staff. It is definitely an experience I would recommend to any couple visiting Puerto Plata.
We will definitely be back.
